What does the AKW plate number code mean?
AKW is the code of Akwanga Local Government Area in Nasarawa. A vehicle carrying it was registered there, which is not the same as saying it has stayed there since.
Does the Nasarawa code on a plate mean the car is in Nasarawa now?
No. The code records where the registration was issued. A car keeps its plate when it changes hands and only gets a new one when it is re-registered, so the plate tells you where the paperwork started, not where the car sleeps.
